We perform specimen preconditioning and series of tests for our customers. These tests are conducted in our fully equipped laboratory. We undertake on demand customer- specific tests. We also subcontract special performance tests to an approved testing facility.

AEROSPACE INDUSTRY

Problem

The manufacturer in question was looking for a narrow fabric supplier, who could provide materials for making safety belts. He did not want to compromise on safety, comfort and also wanted the fabric to be low cost.

We at SNF, came up with the solution of using specialty polyester filament for making a superior quality fabric, that was safe, lightweight, and comfortable. The fabric was manufactured under controlled temperature and given a special finishing for meeting the customer's requirements.

FOOTWEAR INDUSTRY

Problem
A new entrant in the footwear industry was looking for a shoe-lining supplier with the ability to provide fabrics, that were fashionable, yet comfortable. Since the manufacturer in concern had just ventured into the industry, he was not very familiar with the trends and requirements of the footwear segment. He was thus also looking for a manufacturer who could provide him with the necessary advice regarding suitable narrow fabrics.

We, at SNF completely understand the customers said and unsaid requirements. After a few meetings and discussions, we figured out that a manmade filament yarn would be the ideal solution for use in linings. We thus designed a narrow fabric using polyester and other materials for meeting the industrial requirements. Using special knitting technique, we were able to provide him with a low cost, fashionable, yet comfortable fabric.

INDUSTRIAL SAFETY

Problem

A fire fighting garment manufacturer was facing the problem of not being able to provide various finishing for high safety of the wearer. He was also worried about the cost involved in manufacturing a fabric with the required finishing and properties. The customer approached us through a reference. He also wanted the fabric to be made in the shortest span possible to avoid delay to his customers.

We at SNF, looked in the manufacturer's requirement and worked in close coordination with our R & D department for designing a fabric that was cost effective, flame resistant, light weight, impact resistant and had high stability. We used a mix of man made specialty filaments, using special construction technique for manufacturing a high performance narrow fabric.

MILITARY INDUSTRY

Problem

A manufacturer of military gear such as combat uniforms and allied protective gear needed to develop a new range of products for an important customer. The regulatory requirements and design specifications for the product range required a significant improvement in the nature of fabrics they were receiving from their supplier. With an approaching deadline for prototype development, the manufacturer was in a quandary, since their supplier was not able to meet the requirements. A potentially valuable & long-term assignment seemed to be in jeopardy.

At SNF, we had the required infrastructure for meeting the prototyping needs of the customer. We undertook the process as per the requirement and quickly designed a fabric with high tenacity and used a specialty yarn for achieving the required thickness. We also focussed on the knitting technique for reducing the weight of the fabric. The entire, prototyping process, designing a material in accordance with the given requirements was done in a period of 10 days, thus saving on cost and time.

SPORTS EQUIPMENT INDUSTRY

Problem

A manufacturer of mountaineering gear had several issues with their existing supplier of narrow fabrics. The fabrics supplied were proving to be sub-standard and of inconsistent quality. Safety characteristics being of paramount importance in the products, the inconsistencies could not be ignored and production delays had become routine. This was adversely affecting the productivity and had become a risk to the manufacturer's reputation.

At SNF, we understand the need for safety in the end application of our products. Within a short span of time, we identified and understood the needs of the customer. From design to development to approval and production, we worked in quick time ensuring that the customer did not have any problems in integrating our fabrics into their production line. The customer also received benefits from our superior design and production expertise and today has more flexibility and customization options in the fabric range.
